Our small group of core staff and volunteers worked up to 50 hours last week to ensure 2,000 whānau from across the Waiariki region received hygiene packs, including 500 within Te Arawa rohe. The latest consignment will be distributed weekly throughout the Waiariki region. Prioritisation is being given to high-needs whānau, including:
- Whānau living with a long-term condition
- Whānau who are essential workers
- Whānau living in substandard housing conditions.
The hygiene packs are funded by Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency (WOCA), who also set the criteria for recipients.
