DNA is new digital academy in Rotorua that provides whānau-friendly computer programming (coding), game development and digital storytelling workshops.
Tamariki and rangatahi engage with technology constantly yet how many are being taught to construct it? Every Māori child should have the opportunity to learn and DNA seeks to bridge that gap by giving them a foundation in computer science. To gain skills that will prepare them to embrace their digital futures with strength, confidence and knowledge. The DNA KaupapaDNA's kaupapa is to encourage tamariki to use technology in order to think creatively, to navigate safely, work collaboratively, reason systematically and reflect & respect Te Ao Māori.Hour of Code WorldwideThe Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries.
