As part of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Pikiao's NCEA Youth Education incentive programme they are able to give 11 rangatahi the opportunity to study and sit for their Learners License as part of their NCEA level 2 credits.

Meeting new people, learning about their ancestors and overcoming fears are just some of the reasons kids are enjoying a local programme.

Te Arawa Lakes Trust landowners started work with Bay of Plenty Regional and Western Bay of Plenty District Councils to restore the 22 hectare Whakapoukorero wetland, in Maketu, last week.

Māori need to eat healthier to reduce cancer rates, says a Cancer Society representative.

Tūākiri Charitable Trust is an Incorporated Society based in Rotorua, they were established to provide “Te Toa Matataki” programme, a residential care and transition to independence programme for young people aged between 12-17 in the Rotorua District who are in need of care and support as a result of criminal offending.

“Tane Takitu Ake” which means “to stand up together as men” is the focus of this innovative programme. It's aim is to support Māori men helping other Māori men with high health and social needs to realise their full potential.

This is a real opportunity to make positive change for our most needy families - to get fresh fruit to our tamariki in schools; to get fresh fruit and veges to our homeless and whānau living on food bank or hunger relief charity donations...

Whānau are welcome to attend this awesome workshop. 

The Rotorua Youth Centre are holding free courses for rangatahi.

Opening in May 2016, Te Whare Whitinga o te Rā is a bi-lingual Early Childhood Centre with a Ngāti Te Roro o te Rangi curriculum.  We are seeking two qualified ECE teacher’s and one non-qualified teacher to join our new centre.

A Rotorua chef is changing the way he caters on marae in an effort to improve the health of Maori.

There are 5 spots still available for those interested in Te Papa Takaro's T.A.I.O.H.I programme. The programme focuses on rangatahi aged between 14-18, and runs Monday and Friday mornings 5:50am meeting at Te Koutu Marae.

The Women’s Health League was founded in 1937. They are a community group and belong to a wider collective of WHL branches which spread from Gisborne to Te Teko to Rotorua. They promote the well-being of whānau, hapū and iwi and do this by grassroots-led initiatives. They are a voluntary organisation.

The paepae wānanga will consist of  6 whare for the year with each whare being 5 weekly classes & a weekend noho marae.

Sir George Seymour College is offering a fee FREE course in Tourism and Hospitality starting 4 May till 9th Oct 2015.  It will provide students with an introduction to the tourism & hospitality industry.
