(by Te Miri Rangi) The 2014 Te Arawa Kī o Rahi Challenge is our fourth year of celebrating our tāonga tākaro tawhito – traditional Māori games. Te Papa Tākaro o Te Arawa will be holding the 4th Te Arawa Kī o Rahi Challenge at the Medical Officers Reserve opposite Rotorua Boys’ High School.
Every Monday night (starting February 10th) teams will compete in an open mixed grade Kī o Rahi module for over eight weeks. Grading took place last week and the last session will take place today.
All registered teams must have at least 3 females on a field and MUST provide a willing team member to learn and assist with the refereeing. Register your 7 a-side mixed open team today for only $50!!
If you want to know more about Kī o Rahi, our kaiwhakahaere Te Miri Rangi will be available to provide free training to all registered teams who participate in the Te Arawa Kī o Rahi Challenge.
