Please ensure you complete and return the registration forms by Friday 18th March.
This invitation is extended to Ngāti Whakaue ākonga aged between 7 and 14 years and members of their whānau.
The main purpose of Matakōkiri is to provide Science & Technology activities for our ākonga that would not normally be available to them.
For this wānanga, Ki Te Whai Ao – Ki Te Ao Marama there will be a strong emphasis on The Science Inquiry Method.
This wānanga will be based at Whakarewarewa Primary School from Monday 18th April to Thursday 21st April 2016. We will also be having a ‘Whakanuia Celebration’ on Friday 22nd April, 2:00pm at Tamatekapua Wharenui – Ohinemutu where our tamariki can showcase their learning experiences from the week.
This wānanga will begin by acknowledging and learning about our kaitiaki Makereti Papakura, whakawhanaungatanga activities and waiata. Some of the areas we will be exploring are:
- Geothermal
- Wood properties
- Puarenga/Water quality
Registrations for this wānanga will close at 5:00pm on Friday 18th March 2016. Please read the criteria carefully to ensure you have completed all the requirements. The final programme will be confirmed and sent out towards the end of March.
NOTE: It is also now a legislative requirement that all Kaihapai be police vetted. This form is also attached for you to complete and return with your registration.
