Pink Shirt Day is coming soon and on Friday 23 May people all around Aotearoa will wear pink and Speak up, Stand together, Stop bullying.
To help promote this important kaupapa the team at Maketu Health & Social Services spent a day at Te Kura o Maketu to share strategies to help make schools safer and reduce bullying. Local celebrity Masterchefs, Karena and Kasey Bird were also on hand to lend their aroha and support.Pink Shirt Day is an international campaign aimed to raise awareness about the power to prevent bullying. Pink Shirt Day aims to reduce bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting the development of positive social relationships.Pink Shirt Day is an annual event celebrated throughout New Zealand and the world and seeks to create a communities where all people feel safe, valued and respected.
